Beats In Kansas: The Beat Generation in the Heartland

Art Class, University of Nebraska, 1957

by Sylvia Smith Kleindinst

This is a page from a magazine with an article about the Saturday morning art classes for children at the University of Nebraska. My picture is the top one.

This is the inside page showing what we are doing.

I am visiting the oil painting studio and the man is Mr. Butt. I took a watercolor class from him during the year while I was going to Nebraska Wesleyan. This was my first exposure to the art studio.

Here is the painting I purchased from Corban LePell. I still have it and later had the work framed. The blotch is not on the original work.
